Hi, I'm Jen — a Clinical Psychologist with a calm and caring approach

Making that first call to a therapist is a big step, so it matters that you get a feel for the person you’ll be talking to.

I’m an HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist with 15 years of experience across the NHS and private practice — and a mum of two (plus my little dog, Luna). I’ve been to therapy myself, so I know how important it is to feel welcomed, safe, and heard without judgement.

My approach is calm and caring. Together, at your pace, we’ll make sense of what’s going on and start moving towards change, using therapeutic approaches tailored to you. I practice neuroaffirmingly and welcome people from all walks of life.

Dr Jen helped me start to feel back in control of my life and start to make sense of my feelings and how I could work through / around the issues, and shed the emotional load I'd been carrying for far too long. Thank you.
Jennifer Lawson
Dr Jen created a safe, non-judgmental space where I felt comfortable opening up and exploring what I was going through. Through our sessions, she helped me make sense of my feelings and recognise patterns in my thinking and behaviour that I hadn’t been aware of before.
Rebecca Wallis
You have helped me understand me and my relationships which has improved my overall wellbeing, quality of relationships and engagement and enjoyment of life. Thank you once again for your time, excellent expertise and care and compassion.
Karen Weeks
She is a fantastic therapist. Really takes time to get to understand your issues and is kind and compassionate. I have had therapy sessions very the years with 2-3 other therapists and have found Dr Guthries approach and skill unmatched.
'Dr Dave'
I found her to be kind, empathetic and knowledgeable. I felt that she really listened and took the time to really understand me. She was able to translate this understanding into practical, workable strategies to help me to meet my therapeutic goals.
'Anna'
I have just finished a course of therapy with Jennifer and have found this most helpful through my difficult time.

Therapies I offer

As a Clinical Psychologist, I offer a variety of evidence-based therapies and will use the first few sessions to understand your day-to-day difficulties and recommend the most appropriate approach for you. Because you are unique, I can tailor and combine different approaches to suit your individual needs, giving you informed choice and autonomy over your treatment.

Conditions and challenges I can help with

I work with a wide range of difficulties including those listed below. If what you’re experiencing isn’t listed, please still get in touch — a free callback is a chance to find out whether I can help.
