Stress and burnout

Therapy can be a space to pause, reflect, slow down, and discover ways to make life feel more manageable again.
Dr Jen, the Psychology Haven

Stress can be a natural response when the demands of everyday life outweigh our resources to cope with those demands.

Demands can come along in various forms, a change in circumstances, a redundancy, the loss of a loved one, financial difficulties, a lack of support, divorce and relationship issues, and parenting struggles.

There is no shame in not being ok and needing extra support to get through times of stress.

Burnout can happen when prolonged periods of stress occur with no recovery time in-between.

Dr. Brené Brown likens burnout to being in a dark tunnel which feels continuous with no light to break up the darkness.

This can lead to overwhelm and physical symptoms.

Therapy can be a space to pause, reflect, slow down, and discover ways to make life feel more manageable again.
