Low self-confidence and self-esteem or imposter syndrome

Together, we can look at perfectionism, self-criticism, comparison and fear of failure, while developing a more balanced and compassionate view of yourself and your abilities.
Dr Jen, the Psychology Haven

Sometimes we can doubt our abilities even when there is plenty of evidence that we are capable.

You might worry that others will eventually realise you’re not as competent as they think you are, or feel that your success has been down to luck rather than your own abilities.

This may lead to people pleasing, difficulties with being assertive, or setting very high standards for yourself leading to disappointment or self-criticism.

Therapy can provide a space to understand where these feelings come from and explore the patterns that keep them going.

Together, we can look at perfectionism, self-criticism, comparison and fear of failure, while developing a more balanced and compassionate view of yourself and your abilities.
